i did not know Rachel. and i am sad to say that i will never have the chance. i came across this page when looking for statistics for driving under the influence. i hope Rachel rests in peace, and i wish the best for the family. if rachel was lucky enough to have people like you all as a family, she will have died content. i truly hope you find the murderer and put her in her rightful place. i will ofcourse pray for Rachel and family. God Bless.
I came upon this website when googling my daughter's name, Rachel Elliott. I was looking for information on my daughter, but instead I found this website and read about the tragic loss of your beautiful Rachel. Amazingly, not only do are daughters have the same name, but they were also both born in California in the same year. As I read through your website, I couldn't help but imagine the same thing happening to our beloved Rachel. I am so, so sorry to read about what you've all been through and will forever have to cope with. Please know that there is a mom in Vermont who loves a Rachel Elliott of her own that is praying for your sweet Rachel Elliott and your family. I will give our Rachel extra hugs and squeezes today in memory of your beloved daughter.
Today is Father's Day and one of the most difficult for a parent who has lost their child. This includes the family too. Steve and I share the same experiences of losing our Daughters at the hand of a DUI Driver. Few people can understand what we live through as a Father who has been forced to endure this kind of pain and loss. We have other children that love, need and appreciate our role as their Father. This will remain as will the loss of our Daughters. Still we must seek and find the joy in our lives. It will not always be this painful. We have very special moments and memories of our Daughters that we can bring out on days such as this one. We deserve to hold on to what we have. Because I know Steve and Jill and what they are going through I feel personally connected. Though I knew Rachel for just a short time I was blessed as others have been. The Elliott's search to find the path to healing may seem so far away. Please know I will be waiting for the moment you begin you journey and need a friend to help guide and walk with you on this journey. Rachel and my Daughter Andrea are together in heaven and watch our every step. They too wait until we all meet again. I know they want us to enjoy and be honored being their Father and we will. The one voice we wish we could hear say "Happy Father's Day" is not here but their voice lives on in spirit and remembrance. So for now let us recall the last time we heard their voices and these spoken words. They will be etched into our hearts and souls as they will throughout the skies. From a Father who knows, please take these moments today to allow your family to share and honor you as their Father and husband. You deserve this and more. They too will give their hearts filled with love as with the spirit of our Daughters. They need us more than ever... Today is our day.
Jill and family, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I used to do Jill's hair years ago in Los Alamitos when her shop was right next to our salon. Darlene Fitzgerald emailed me this story. What a wonderful person your niece was. I hope and pray that they find the woman that caused her death. I will forward this to all of my email friends and family.
I'm a friend of Jack and Darlene Fitzgerald....rv buddies. I will definately forward on this site. So sorry for your loss. Hope they catch up to this woman
Jack and I are old friends of Jill and Bruce and have fwd pic and info to all our address book people. We pray the woman is caught!!
I unfortunately made the mistake of driving inebriated, but luckily didn't hurt anyone. Nonetheless, I live in horror every day realizing that I could have easily done the same deed that took Rachel from her family and friends
Dear Jill and family, What a beautiful girl Rachel was. I am so sorry for your loss. I will pray for you. It was really nice talking with you yesterday. Thank you for sharing with me. In Christ, Gail Peck
first and foremost my heart goes out to Jill and her family i was devasted by the news my son really liked Rachel and as for the women who ran because she doesnt want to face the music you will be caught and punished for the horrible crime you did
i am very upset like christina fuming mad that the woman who killed rachel fled! thius broke my heart and made me very angry! she just needs to face the music and get what she is charged for. i feel incrediblly sorry for the people who helped her flee becuase if they find her... && they will then the others will also be right there in the same situation as her. this is very serious!! you took away a beloved friend and daughter from us and we are NEVER going to forgive you. spitting on her grave is very low grow up and admitt to what you did already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am sorry that i didnt get to spend more time with rachel but now she is gone forever! i hope you relize all the pain that her family and friends have to go through on a daily basis i being one of them. i grew up with her! its not fair!
I am enraged that the woman who was dumb enough to get behind the wheel of a car drunk has now fled...its time to face the music and she should have thougth about that. Rach i miss u more than u kno and i regret not being able to spend more time with u...but forever u will hold a place in my heart. Thank u for teaching me to love life, and i promise she will be brought to justice if not in our eyes the in the eyes of God
I am disgusted that the accused has turned and run after she is finally having to face the crime she is accused of! The warrants should not be a surprise to her - or did she think she would not have to face what has been a long time coming. She is a parent herself. Face reality! I unfortunately have had to see what the family in Orland, (blood relatives and family of the community) have had to go through since Rachel was taken from us, it sickens me as a parent of a teenage driver and friend of the Elliott's to see that that justice is so so close but still out of reach. May GOD be with Elva's child and family when she has to face her maker in the crimes she is being accused of. May her child not have to pay for her mothers mistakes!
I can not believe that the person that took sweet Rachel's life has decided to run. I am absolutley disgusted at her and anyone that has helped her to flee the police. I hope that our justice sysytem can find her and do whats right. Rachel will never be forgotten!!!
As my daughter and I were looking for acticles for her driving class, we read about Rachel. Rachel was a beautiful young lady with a great future ahead of her. We are so sorry for your loss. A family should never lose someone the love so dearly. When will people learn that drinking and driving is life changing for everyone involved?!
hi am 13 years old and i am doin a research essay on the drinking age. Thiss memograph has changed everything

just thinking about you a lot today Rachel and wanted to stop by. You are always in my thoughts in prayers!!! You are forever loved and missed. Last nigt my boyfriend asked if I would be the DD when him and his friends go out this weekend and I greatly said yes so that I know that everyone would be safe and I would be doing my part to keep drunk drivers off the road. You affect my actions everyday and I always talk about you 🙂 Keep smilin on us down here 🙂
I am so sorry for your loss. I was convicted of a DWI in July of last year. I didn't crash, but all I think about is how easy it would have been to hurt or kill someone. The guilt of my actions have changed me entirely. I am trying to get my town and area towns to provide sober rides from the bars because we don't have taxis. I am trying to prevent others from doing what I did. Every time I come across a site like this I take the information to heart and use it to help bring change. Some of us do change, and I hope I am not judged forever for what I did, but rather for the changes that I made because of it.
I was in traffic on the 405 today and a car passed me with a picture and this website referenced in the back window. I was compelled to check it out. It makes me so angry to hear about a loss like this. Drunk driving is one of the most selfish things a person can do. I am truly sorry that this happened -- Rachel was clearly a beautifful person inside and out. Rachel's legacy is making an impact -- thank you for providing a place where people can come together as a community against drunk driving. May God Bless and Keep Your Family. SN
