I did not know Rachel nor her family but feel connected in a sense. My son was the victim of a drunk driver and is now a quadriplegic due to the accident. His accident occurred on February 22, 2008, one day after Rachel's accident. Though we did not loose our son he cannot walk and has no use of his fingers due to breaking his neck in 2 places after being ejected from the vehicle he was in. The young man that caused the accident was 17 and got 10 years in prison. My son was 19 at the time of the accident. He now lives with us and all our lives have changed immensely. I cannot begin to feel the pain of your complete loss and am thankful he is alive. I do express my deepest sympathy for the pain that you endure on a daily basis because of your loss of Rachel. She was a beautiful girl and truly blessed to have such a beautiful family and so many friends. I admire what you as a family have done to preserve her name and make her short lived life mean something! God Bless all of you! Elaine Lucke

I'm speechless today. It's just a God-awful day. It feels like I have not seen Rachel in 20 years and yet it's only been 2. How I wish she was back with us so that life could be how it was. No Rachel, no justice, no sense in any of this.

Dear Rachel, your bright light has left a bleak emptiness here on earth and it cannot be filled here. Embracing this emptiness we who are left behind find our connection to God and pray for all humanity's release from grief and pain.

God of all comfort, comfort all those who love Rachel and continue to mourn her loss. By your mercy, give us peace and hope to live the rest of our lives, grateful each day for the love we have known and are still able to give and to receive. Bless the memory of Rachel's beautiful but short life, and may the best in her continue to inspire and encourage those who remember her.

My precious daughter. I cannot express how much I love and miss you today and everyday. I feel like my life is candle burning now in memory of you. I thank God for the time we shared here on earth and for the hope I have of being together on that sweet day of happy reunion. It gets closer with every passing day...

I can't believe that two years on this day you were smiling and laughing enjoying life, then in just a few more hours from now, two years ago someone stupid person made a horrible decision and it ended your life. It still feels like yesterday, this is an anniversary I don't like to celebrate. You are missed everyday. I talk about you all the time, cause you are forever a part of my life. You are forever loved.

Hello, I find it very helpful to write whenever I can concerning another lost beautiful person. I too lost my daughter last April in a horrible wreck in Fullerton, California. There were 3 wonderful kids with everthing in the world going for them slaughtered by a serial drunk driver. The driver actually ran from the site of the crash. My daughter and one other died in her car. A third person died at the hospital hours later and one survived. There are no words to express how badly I feel for you. There are way too many of us parents who went to a funeral instead of a wedding or college graduation. You are in our thoughts. Chris Stewart
