I came across your site while helping my 17 year old son with an English assignment. He as to write an essay on a human flaw, vice or weakness and then divise a plan for the elimination of the flaw. Drunk Driving was the first thing to come to mind. Something needs to be done to stop it. Rachel is a beautiful young lady. I am so sorry for your loss. Your family will be kept in though and prayer.

Hello Rachel and family, I came across this website while doing research for a paper on drunk drivers. Rachel is such a beautiful young lady, I have a 16 year old daughter I cannot imagine what you as her family must go through every day. Please uncerstand that Rachel did not die in vain because so many of us have learned so much from her even though we have never met. Peace and prayers.

What a beautiful tribute. I was directed to this page by a search on DUI fatalities. My son and Rachel would be about the same age so it has been very emotional for me to be here trying to understand what it must be like for her loved ones. I have worked in EMS for 15 years and see the devastation drunk driving leaves behind. It never gets easier. I hope that everyone who visits Rachel's page will take with them the knowlegde that they each have to power to save others the heartbreak all who knew her are experiencing. Deepest condolences and sincerest thanks for sharing Rachel with the world to be a light to hopefully guide others.

I came across your website and was horrified at what I read. She sounds like a very sweet girl. We need to tighten up the belt on drunk driving. We can start by making first-time offenders use a inerlock device so that the car won't start if the driver has any alcohol in his/her breath. I can't imagine how terrible this must have been for Rachel's parents. Anyways, good luck and God Bless.

Hello RAchel. Rest in peace wherever you are and know in your heart that many people cares about you and are fighting for your cause. Dying as a result of drunk drivers is just unfair and does not make any sense at all!

I know there are many who visit this page who are suffering as we are from the loss of a loved one to DWI incidents. I wanted to make you aware that there is a DWI memorial now in place on Interstate 40 in Moriarty, New Mexico. It is called The Memorial of Perpetual Tears. While it was designed to specifically honor New Mexican victims, there is a national component there as well. They need funding for their project, and they invite those of you who have lost loved ones to submit victims tributes for inclusion in the memorial. Please visit their website at www.dwimemorialofperpetualtears.org and encourage them in their efforts. The grand opening of their visitor's center is Saturday, October 11, 2008. Thank you all for continuing to remember Rachel. I miss my little girl. Your thoughtfulness is truly a comfort.
